Arrest Related Death statistics of civilians in the US 2003-2009, categorised by race

Following the Guardian article in June of this year looking at potential racial bias of police killing unarmed civilians:

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/series/counted-us-police-killings

Where they found out of 102 unarmed civilians killed, 32% were black, 15% white.

Black people make up 13% of the US population, and in prisons the ratio of black and white convicts are 1:1.

I looked at statistics from earlier years myself, produced by Bureau of Justice Statistics:

http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/ard0309st.pdf

A summary table of the key findings I made from their data:

I found a ratio of 1.9 of black people to white people killed by police under police custody.
